What an awesome evening!
If you were there then you know that “Wow” doesn’t even begin to cover how amazing the evening at Indigo2 was from start to finish, how great it was that danceaid were invited to be such a part of it… and how amazing our #FemaleTakeover supercrew were!
Indeed we must starting by paying a huge congratulations to our team of female dancers (representing the cream of the crop of dance crews) & their choreographer Rhimes Lecointe. They were spectacular. Even more so when you hear that, due to unforeseen circumstances, they had approximately 3 minutes of rehearsal time for their 8- minute performance… on a stage area that was half the size that they’d expected, and yet despite all that they still blew the crowd away!
This is the first time we’re aware that a dance act have been included in the line-up of a big music event like this, and we must applaud Musicalize for making the decision to try it, and it certainly seemed to work!
So many of the crowd came up to us during the evening to tell us that the dance performance was their favourite part of the evening (though we should point out that they all said this to us before Ciara came on!)
If we weren’t allowed to nominate our crew as our favourite act then I suspect that each of the danceaid dreamteam who volunteered to help that night would probably have a different answer – but we were all impressed with The Boxettes, proving that you don’t need instruments, just incredible voices to mesmerize an audience.
It goes without saying that Ciara offered a truly world-class performance but we were even more impressed when she invited fans up on stage to dance with her… they were all incredible, particularly the first guy who could flip across the stage nearly as well as our own superstar Kav-Man. We hope, after their impressive performances, that each of the audience members that Ciara called up, and the rest of the crowd that night will join us in dancing to make a difference in future as well.

As amazing as the event was, for us the real success of the evening was the opportunity to be able to introduce our charity – and more importantly the plight of the children in our projects – to a whole new audience that appreciate music and dance, and so we think …
A HUGE Thanks are due to Musicalize & Indigo2
We have got to say a massive thanks to Musicalize for all the support that they gave us during the evening and for inviting danceaid to be a part of it in the first place. We are also incredibly grateful for the help and hospitality of all the staff at Indigo2. They were all friendy, welcome and eager to help in and every way they could.
