Other Ways to Help
There are many, many other ways that many of our amazing, enterprising supporters do it for danceaid. Here are some of the ideas that really captured our imagination…
Sponsored Danceathon!
This is an idea for those of you that literally never want to stop dancing (which is why we love it!)! There are so many ways to do this, and so many ways of getting your friends involved too. You could organise it at your local village hall, in association with a local DJ or night club… or if your gym runs Zumba or Salsa lessons then why not get them to join you in the madness.
Busk!
We believe our legendary patron Theo, the mini-king of pop was the first to raise money for danceaid this way and we think it is an awesome idea! We are so lucky to have a lot of talented performers amongst our supporters, (yes that includes you)! So why not put that talent to use and share it with the public through some impromptu street performances.
(Well don’t make them too impromptu, you need to check out busking regulations with your local council first.)
Afternoon Tea Dances
A great British institution, a little slower paced but absolutely perfect for those sunny afternoons we get from time-to-time. Tea dances traditionally followed, or were part of, an afternoon garden party. The types of dances performed during tea dances included Waltzes, Tangos and, by the late 1920s, the Charleston too. You don’t have to be traditional in your dancing but if you are sticking with tradition then don’t forget to include the traditional refreshments; – tea, coffee, champagne and wine accompanied by fruit, sandwiches, cakes & biscuits!!
Have a clearout & sell your old stuff on eBay or at a car boot sale!
It is one of those things we are all terrible at – throwing away our old toys, the clothes that don’t fit us any more, old mobile phones or those great gadgets that we never get around to using and end up collecting dust in the corner! So here’s the rule if you haven’t used it, worn it or looked at in 6 months then chances are you never will – so time to get shut!
(We do make exceptions for seasonal stuff like ski gear and bikinis obviously!)
Sell danceaid wristbands at your school, college, office or club
If you want an easy way of raising money and awareness then get out there for danceaid. We even offer FREE UK postage and only £10 international postage when you buy 100 wristbands for your event. Be realistic about what you can sell though, you don’t want the merchandise taking over your house!

Finally, it’s not just raising money that you can help us with…
Become a social media ambassador – #twambassador
One of the biggest ways you can help danceaid is by helping us tell our story. We are a young charity and although we are growing quickly we still need to tell lot of people about the work we do and what we are trying to achieve! Regularly tweeting your followers to tell them a bit about us, sharing our articles on Facebook or posting videos of you doing it for danceaid are all really important in helping us get that message across. It’s easy to become a danceaid #twambassador.
